Lake Union Cruise October 22, 2000

These are some pictures taken on an afternoon cruise in my Escapade pedal powered boat on Lake Union, located in the middle of Seattle, WA, along with Rusty Lane and Ronald McDonald in their Escapades.

This was taken along one of the aquatic alleys on Lake Union. These mushrooms had the same color and appearance of large golden or bronze rivets, and only on closer examination could I tell that they were not some unique and whimsical bit of artwork.

The fountains on this houseboat were a nice touch.

Here is a view of one of the larger house boats on the west side. The barn style provides lots of interior space while not being as boxy in appearance as some of the other house boats.

While these people love to live on the water, they also like to have a bit of land-based foliage.

This can be carried to quite an extreme! This sort of reminds me of the reverse situation, where people buy a house on a lot covered with trees and then chop down all the trees so they can have a grass lawn.

When cruising on Lake Union, one needs to share the water with the sea plane traffic from time to time.

Here are Rusty and Ron, with the Space Needle in the background.

Don't have the money, but have the desire to try sleeping on the water? This Bunk and Breakfast might be just the ticket.

We ended our cruise traveling up the east side of the lake. Seattle's downtown skyline appears in the distance.
